The South Town Art Walk is a grassroots, artist-led event that takes place each year in South Corvallis, Oregon. It began in 2011, when a small group of local artists printed maps, opened their studios, and invited friends, family, and the community to stop by for holiday shopping.
What started as a modest neighborhood event has grown into a beloved annual tradition. The participating studios and homes—located along the East side of Highway 99, from Crystal Lake Drive to Park Street—are affectionately known as the South Town Art District, a name that’s caught on with residents and social media alike.
Each year, new artists join the walk, while returning artists often share their spaces to welcome and support first-time participants. The STAW continues to thrive because of this collaborative spirit and strong sense of community.
Our mission is to:
-
Support and showcase local artists
-
Strengthen community connections
-
Celebrate the importance of shopping local
Visitors can explore studios, meet artists, and enjoy artwork both indoors and along the streets. One recent highlight was a community-painted intersection mural along the STAW route at Bethel and Lilly Street. Originally completed in 2019, and re-vamped in 2025 it is a vibrant symbol of neighborhood creativity and community pride.
We’re deeply grateful for the continued support of the Corvallis community, and we can’t wait to welcome you to this year’s South Town Art Walk in December!
